Boxing Stars Mike Tyson, Roy Jones Jr. End Legends Only Exhibition Match in a Draw

There has not been a sweeter comeback before than this one.

The boxing ring has come to life again after two boxing icons, Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr., clashed but ended up in an unofficial draw in the Tyson-hosted Legends Only League on Saturday night, November 28.

The two prominent boxing stars shocked the audience after reminding them that they still have more left in their tanks in eight rounds of the comeback fight.

Tyson showed no signs of aging as he unleashed an unstoppable left hook that caught Jones at bay. The heavyweight boxer was an early bird in punishing the 51-year-old Jones with a barrage of punches. "Iron Mike" went for a whirling blow, cornering Jones in every corner of the square.

Despite Tyson's advantage in the early going, Jones retaliated with his signature no-look jabs that wowed the crowd. The two fighters kept on clinching in the succeeding rounds. Waltzing in the ring, Jones did not let his guard down, earning him scorecard wins in the last three rounds to settle with a decisive tie against Tyson.

Hoping for an intense outcome, Tyson reminded his fans that he is happy with a draw. "I thought I won but I'm happy because we entertained the fans. I'm used to doing it for three minutes. I'm just happy I got this under my belt and I'm going to continue to do more."

Tyson, who became the youngest heavyweight boxing champion at the age of 20, still surprised everyone with his impeccable footwork and stamina, even at 54.

On the other hand, Jones, who climbed from middleweight to heavyweight championships, found the match unsatisfying.

"I wear draws, I don't do draws," Jones said in a report by CBS.

Tyson was all business in round 2, delivering a series of steel blows to Jones' body and head. The latter appeared to be groggy, but he still withstood a multitude of jabs.

The heavyweight professional had more air to release, proving that his nickname "The Baddest Man on the Planet" is enough for Jones to tremble in the corner.

Preparing for another invitation from Tyson, Jones braced himself to receive more hits as he survived the hard-fought round in the hands of the co-veteran.

According to Other Sports, Jones protested that the size of the ring is too small to occupy. However, the agreement about the ring size was already settled by the two stars beforehand.

In round 6, Jones sent a strong message to Tyson after spacing out for a hop-step combo. He resorted to clinching to halt Tyson's momentum, yet he successfully pulled a counterblow to daze his rock-bodied rival.

The prior round was even more entertaining courtesy of exclusive counter-punches from two sides. Tyson intimidated his opponent with his grappling hook, but Jones evened the match with another vintage no-look jab.

After many years of inactivity in the sports, Tyson was handed a huge $10 million pay for the pay-per-view event. It was his first match since 2005 against Kevin McBride. Meanwhile, Jones had reportedly received $3 million in the said match.

In another event, Youtube star Jake Paul sent NBA-player-turned boxer Nate Robinson to the canvass twice after a skull-crushing right hook in the second round of their bout. Currently, Paul holds a 2-0 record as a professional athlete.
