Peyton Manning finally was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Sunday, and he couldn't resist taking another shot at Tom Brady, his nemesis and greatest rival during his playing days in the National Football League.

Manning only had six minutes to deliver his much-anticipated acceptance speech, but he still managed to squeeze in Brady in his remarks. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback made the trek to Canton, Ohio, to witness his pal's induction to the Hall of Fame but was met by boos from Indianapolis Colts fans when Manning mentioned his name during his speech.

Brady turned around in bemusement, asking the jeering crowd, "What did I do wrong?" Once the boos died down, Manning delivered his punch line, saying, "In his first year of eligibility in 2035, he'll only have time to post his acceptance speech to his Instagram account."

Manning might be joking that Brady will retire in his 50s but is he? It's incredible to think that Brady is still an active player in the NFL at the grand old age of 44 when one of his main rivals is now a member of the Hall of Fame.

Manning and Brady had a storied rivalry, facing each other 17 times in the NFL. Brady owns an 11-6 all-time record against Manning, all of which transpired when he was a member of the New England Patriots. He went 8-4 versus Manning's Indianapolis Colts and 3-2 against Manning's Denver Broncos. Manning, however, has a 3-2 edge over Brady in the playoffs, with four of their meetings coming in the AFC Championship.

Brady hatched the idea to see Manning's Hall induction

According to Tampa Bay head coach Bruce Arians, it was Brady's idea to attend Manning's induction into the Hall of Fame. Arians said that the two rival quarterbacks got closer to each other in the latter stages of their career, saying that the relationship between Brady and Manning was not adversarial as everybody thought it was.

Indeed, fans had seen that interaction when Brady and Manning participated in the golf exhibition "The Match" alongside major champions Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson, with the two football icons trash-talking each other ahead of the competition.

Manning took a shot at Brady, who had just made a blockbuster move to the Bucs at that time, saying he would love to play Tom in a place where they don't like him very much, "like Boston after he just betrayed them and broke their hearts."

Brady is flourishing in his new team, leading the Buccaneers to the Super Bowl title in his first year with the franchise. Despite playing with a fully torn MCL, Brady led Tampa Bay to three road playoff wins last season before defeating Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs, 31-9, in Super Bowl LV.
