The sequel to the movie "Field of Dreams" has just been released, and it is a box-office hit. Tim Anderson delivered a Hollywood ending to Thursday night's game in Dyersville, Iowa, blasting a walk-off two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Chicago White Sox a dramatic 9-8 victory over the New York Yankees.

Like in the movies, both teams saved their best for last in the much-anticipated Field of Dreams Game as the Chicago White Sox and the New York Yankees traded leads in the ninth inning with huge home runs.

The Bronx Bombers looked to have grabbed a thrilling comeback after Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton recorded two-run homers off All-Star closer Liam Hendriks in the top of the ninth to give New York an 8-7 lead.

However, there was another twist to the first-ever regular-season MLB game played on Iowa soil, with Anderson hitting the first pitch he saw from Yankees closer Zach Britton deep into the cornfields for his 13th homer of the season.

Pandemonium ensued as Anderson rounded the bases for the unlikely win, with the 7,832 people in attendance screaming their lungs out as fireworks exploded over the stunning made-from-scratch stadium.

Kevin Costner, the star of the 1989 film "Field of Dreams," was in attendance and stole the show before the start of the game with a slow stroll into the outfield, recreating the ones his character Ray Kinsella took in the movie. The Yankees and White Sox players soon followed as they emerged from the corn for the pre-game introductions.

Yankees and White Sox engage in a heavyweight slugfest, blasting a total of 8 homers

Sometimes, games of this magnitude fail to live up to expectations. Not this one, though, as the two teams turned this contest into a heavyweight slugfest. Jose Abreu got the party started with a drive into the corn stalks for the game's first home run.

The Yankees responded with Aaron Judge blasting a three-run homer and Brett Gardner delivering a solo shot off Lance Lynn. Eloy Jimenez and Seby Zavala each recorded homers for the White Sox, who wore 1919-style uniforms for the match. That set the stage for the dramatic finish that even Hollywood screenwriters can't script much better.

Both teams hit a total of eight home runs in this game on a night they will never soon forget. The Yankees might have lost the game, but in reality, there were no losers in this contest, with both teams creating for themselves and for the fans in attendance memories that will last a lifetime.
