WrestleMania 30 [RUMORS]: Triple H To Face CM Punk In New Orleans? Is Punk Injured? [VIDEO]

Reports over the last week have indicated that the WWE has made several changes to its plans for the WrestleMania 30 pay-per-view that takes place on April 6 live from the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans. The latest reported change is a planned match between WWE COO Triple H and CM Punk at the WWE's biggest event of the year.

It was rumored that Triple H was set to end his program with The Big Show either at the TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs pay-per-view on Dec. 15 at the Toyota Center in Houston or at the Royal Rumble event in January, but the plans for a Triple H match with The Big Show have been scrapped. The reason for the match being dropped may be as a way to save a Triple H return match as a big buildup for WrestleMania.

It was rumored that if "Stone Cold" Steve Austin was able to return for the event in a wrestling capacity, that he might have taken on Punk, but it looks like Austin won't be able to wrestle at the event despite the fact that Punk was one of the opponents he said he'd like to face if he were able to wrestle one more match.

According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, the WWE is either planning on doing a Punk and Triple H feud leading up to WrestleMania or at the show itself.

Punk has expressed his frustration with never being in the main event at WrestleMania for the WWE Championship, and in the most recent event at the 29th installment last spring, despite being in a high-profile match against The Undertaker and his streak, so it remains to be seen how the "Straightedge Superstar" will react to facing Triple H.

"I don't really mince words, I'm not gonna tell you I'm excited for Cena and Rock II because I'm not," Punk told reporters during WrestleMania XXIX weekend last year when John Cena and The Rock closed the show. "I'd be more excited if it was me and John [Cena]."

According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, Punk has been dealing with two injuries as he has been banged up with a back injury as well as an issue with rib cartilage. Punk was written to not take any damage on this past week's Monday Night RAW to give his body a night off from physical activities, however he was in action at Tuesday night's SmackDown tapings and should be fine for his 3-on-1 match against The Shield at Tables, Ladders and Chairs.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that the WWE was thinking about doing a John Cena and Hulk Hogan tag team match against opponents soon to be named or have Cena take on Orton in a Unified Title match hinting that the TLC PPV may not solve the current title situation. That rumored match goes on top of rumors that Bill Goldberg may take on Ryback at the event if the WWE can sign him and that the Undertaker will either face Sting or Brock Lesnar at the pay-per-view.

The WWE has rapidly changed plans, and with WrestleMania about four months away, anything can happen, but there's a good chance that "The Game" and "The Straightedge Superstar" lock horns at the biggest event of the year.
