New York Jets Playoffs? With Jets Still Alive, Tight End Kellen Winslow Picks Two Other Teams To Play in AFC Title Game (VIDEO)

Today's New York Jets headache is brought to you by tight end Kellen Winslow Jr.

Newsday reported Wednesday that Winslow, in his first year with the team, tweeted his picks Monday night for both the NFC and AFC championship games.

He likes the Carolina Panthers and the Seattle Seahawks to advance in the NFC, and he's picking the New England Patriots and the Denver Broncos in the AFC.

The picks themselves are not earth-shattering or bold. What is bold is that Winslow's current employers still are alive in the AFC playoff race. Though the Jets are on a three-game losing streak and have issues at quarterback with rookie Geno Smith, they still are mathematically alive for a spot.

If it's any consolation to Jets fans, Winslow didn't just offer his picks out of the blue. His tweet was in response to a free agent wide receiver Donte Stallworth, Newsday reported. The tweet has been deleted.

And after Sunday's loss to the Miami Dolphins, Winslow did say the right things to an ESPN reporter.

"We've lost three straight, so, obviously [that's] not good," Winslow said. "But we'll go down swinging. We have to go to work. This is our job. It's not like the season is over. It might be record-wise, but it's still football. We still love it."

Winslow was absent during the team's practice on Wednesday, but a New Jersey Star-Ledger reporter tweeted that Winslow usually rests a troublesome knee and does not practice on Wednesdays.

The Jets obviously have bigger problems to address, such as Smith's confidence and whether he can be the team's franchise quarterback, and coach Rex Ryan's future with the organization.

But Winslow's faux pas is just the latest sign that not everyone on the Jets is on the same page.
