Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has been hounded by news of his probable move to Saudi Arabia as a coach of a local football club. Some even said the deal had been sealed, and he will become Ettifaq FC's new manager.

Gerrard cleared the allegations once and for all.

He denied taking his talents to the Saudi country, although he admitted to talking to them.

"I was invited over there to look at a potential offer, which I did, and I have been analyzing that over the last couple of days," he explained.

However, contrary to recent news reports, he rejected the opportunity.

"But, as we stand right now, I won't be taking that offer up."

The 2005 UEFA Football Player of the Year retired in 2016 and became the manager of his only European club Liverpool's Under 18 and 19 teams.

He then took the managerial position at Rangers FC, steering the club into its first Scottish Championship. The victory disrupted Celtic's seven-year supremacy.

Saudi's Raid of Europe

Steven Gerrard is just one of many names being linked to Saudi Arabia's top-flight league, and some are worried that even coaches might be pirated by Arabian money.

Big names like Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema had accepted huge amounts of money to take their talents to Saudi, while Luka Modric and Lionel Messi were also offered astronomical amounts of contracts but decided against it. Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets, and Luis Suarez are also rumored to have been courted by Saudi clubs.
