The grass is greener on the other side.

Another marquee player from Europe has taken his talents to Saudi Arabia as N'Golo Kanté officially leaves Chelsea for Al Ittihad.

The announcement of the signing was made by the Saudi club's official Twitter account.

According to the deal, the French midfielder will earn $27.5 million per year until 2027. This guarantees him at least $100 million in four years. Not included in this yet are commercial deals and image rights.

Kante only earned $19 million annually with Chelsea, who hired him after his historic stint with Leicester City, which won the 2015-16 Premier League.

The Frenchman has accomplished everything a player could achieve in his football career. He won the Premier League twice (another with Chelsea), the Champions League in 2021, the Europa League in 2019, and the UEFA Super Cup in 2021.

Internationally, he won the most prestigious trophy of all, the FIFA World Cup 2018.

Kante is a different signing

UEFA Chief Aleksander Ceferin earlier said he was not afraid of the piracy being done by Saudi Arabian clubs saying they have yet to hire a player that is still at his peak.

He said Saudi Arabia must prevent what China went through, and they can do this by creating football academies instead.

The West Asian country already signed Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema, who are both at least 35. They also tried to get Lionel Messi, Hugo Lloris, and Luka Modric, who are all within that range.

Kante is only 32 years old, and it is easy to say for many that he is still in his prime. It would be interesting to see who will follow him next.
