The Los Angeles Clippers need a point guard, and they would have gotten one in Malcolm Brogdon if only the three-team trade went through.

The former Rookie of the Year was part of the package to get Kristaps Porzingis from the Washington Wizards. The Clips will get Boston, while the Wizards will acquire Marcus Morris, Amir Coffey, and the No. 30 pick.

However, the deal fell through at the last minute. This is because of Brogdon's current health issues that are too significant, according to Brian Windhorst.

"Brogdon has a health issue, a health issue that as I understand, is so significant, that not only can the Celtics not do this trade, there's probably no Malcolm Brogdon trade that they can do in the short term," Windhorst said.

Brogdon, a good backup last season for the Celtics that reached the Conference Finals, will remain wearing the green jersey for a foreseeable time. Teams steer away from him due to his current health issues.

Brogdon stays, but Smart is out

Celtics' interest in Porzingis seems to be strong as the team continued the pursuit, officially getting him by loading off Marcus Smart.

The deal now involves the Memphis Grizzlies, who received the former Defensive Player of the Year. The Celts get Porzingis along with two first-round draft picks, while the Wizards receive guard Tyus Jones.

While moving Smart seems to be a huge move for the Celts, Brian Robb of MassLive.com shared that the team is "far from done" reorganizing the roster.

He said the team could still pursue a mid-priced player with several first-round draft picks or make more trades to advance in the draft.
