San Diego Padres are caught again in a streak of losses after showing some signs they got their mojo back in a 13-3 win against the Washington Nationals.
However, they suffered in the next two games against the same opponent.
The department where the team seems to be lacking is hitting.
Star Manny Machado was the first to admit players' deficiency but insisted that if someone is to blame, it is certainly not the coaches.
"They [hitting coaches] give us all the information we need," Machado said.
"Ultimately, it's what we do out there. We do what we can control, which is to go out there and hit the ball. You can't put so much emphasis on it's their fault. If you're going to put any fault on anyone, it's going to be us, we hold the cards, we hold the bat, we make the outs. It's not about the managers, coaches, or pitching staff, it's about the players."

Padres currently hold a 37-41 win-loss record and sit at fourth place in the NL West standings. They are seven games behind the San Francisco Giants.
A bright spot amid the struggles
Padres had a slow start to the season, and many believe that the season is still young to be judged.
While other players struggled, Blake Snell emerged as a bright spot for the team.
Blake Snell turned heads in recent games, and Machado can't help but praise his fellow veteran pitcher.
"He's just been going out there attacking guys, getting outs, striking out a lot of them," Manny Machado said.
"I've seen him pitch well for three years. Obviously, he's always started off a little slow in the past. But he's been lights out for us."
The Padres will next slug it out with Pittsburg Pirates for three straight games.
