Spicy words have been thrown between Kansas City Chiefs and Cincinnati Bengals this offseason, and neither sides are ready to back down.

The budding rivalry between these two teams takes on a new chapter as the man at the center of it all finally speaks up.

Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow finally responded two weeks after Chiefs' Travis Kelce threw explicit words toward his teammate Ja'Marr Chase.

While the opponents chose words, Burrow believes it will all go down to their meeting on the field come the new season.

"The best thing about that is it's all settled on the field," he told The Complex when asked about the exchange between Chase, Kelce, and Patrick Mahomes.

"So we'll see them in December."

The issue became more intense when Kelce took exception from Chase's comment about Burrow being the number one quarterback in the NFL, saying, "Pat who?" in reference to Patrick Mahomes.

Are the Bengals ready to reach another level?

The eventual 2023 Super Bowl champs Chiefs handled this rivalry in words and on the field after trashing the Bengals in their AFC Championship meeting.

This means the Bengals are the ones with a chip on their shoulders. Are they ready for revenge?

For Burrow, all eyes are on Super Bowl, and he believes they are capable of achieving that this season by running it back and adding more significant pieces.

"We have essentially the same team with, you know, a couple lost pieces, but we also added a couple pieces that I think will help us," he said.

"So just continuing to grind every day and get better and better. It sounds cliche, but that's really how you do it. You can't focus too much on the future."
