Lionel Messi is now getting accustomed to life in the United States, and he took out his family to a local Publix supermarket in Miami for grocery shopping last Thursday night, much to the amusement of his longtime supporters and new fans in America.

The 36-year-old did not have any security around, and he was spotted casually walking alongside his wife Antonela and their three sons - ten-year-old Thiago, seven-year-old Mateo, and five-year-old Ciro. The boys were seen picking out different cereals from the shelves.

The Messi family was initially shopping around the supermarket freely, but when they hit the counter for checkout, fans started to recognize the global superstar and immediately asked for selfies. Antonela gave her husband the car keys to evade the swarm of fans, and Messi and his three boys went outside straight to their vehicle.
Followers of the former Barcelona forward were charmed by the situation, as he can't roam casually in Barcelona, Paris, and most of the world. A highlight reel of Messi's grocery shopping also came out.
It is worth noting that Publix is an official sponsor of Inter Miami, and some speculated that this could be an advertisement for the grocery chain.
Sports analyst Mark J. Burns reported that the Messi family's trip to the grocery store generated $3.3 million worth of brand exposure for Publix.
Fans worried for Messi's safety
Some urged the superstar to hire a security detail to ensure his and his family's safety in Miami.
A fan also unsolicitedly kissed Messi on the cheek a few days ago after dinner.
