DeAndre Hopkins is a free agent no more after Tennessee Titans secured his talent, ending a long saga concerning the next team of the five-time Pro Bowl member.

One hurdle for many teams in signing Hopkins is his salary, which the Titans overcame.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport revealed that the Titans will pay the star wide receiver "a 2-year, $26M deal worth up to $32M with incentives."

Titans beat out New England Patriots for the signature of Hopkins, leaving the latter's fans fuming as their team continues to look for someone who can lead their offense.

Arizona Cardinals released Hopkins on May 26 this year. Before that, he was in and out of the line-up. He was suspended six games in 2022 for violating the league's drug policy.

Hopkins is expected to start for the Titans, who have one of the league's worst pass-catching corps.

Titans boosted offense

Hopkins is regarded as one of the most underrated offensive players in the league.

His signing is already impacting the Titans' playoff chances two months before the start of the new season.

According to CBS Sports, the chances of the team making the post-season rose by 6.5 percent to 37.7, conference title by 0.7 percent.

Titans' pass volume is not that high compared to the Cardinals, but many expect that to change with the arrival of Hopkins.

He may be in his early 30s, but his 7.1 receptions per game average last season is not far from his prime years average. He also recorded 79.7 yards per game in his last full year with the Cardinals, close to his career average of 77.9 per game.
