Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Angel Pedromo failed to finish the series against San Diego Padres after being handed a three-game suspension effective immediately.
The Dominican thrower was suspended for "hit by pitch" on Padres star Manny Machado during the eighth inning. The action was said to be out of frustration after he gave up a homer on Juan Soto an inning before.
Pirates manager Derek Shelton also got a one-game suspension in connection to the actions made by Pedromo during the game they lost, 1-5.

Machado took offense on the hit.
"You give up a bomb like that, I would be mad, too, I'm not gonna lie," Machado said after Tuesday's game.
"I guess people don't respect people anymore."
Pedromo, who is currently 1-1 with a 3.92 ERA in 20 2/3 innings this season, was ejected right after the incident.
Manager Shelton argues HBP was unintentional
Pedromo expectedly argued that the hit on Machado was unintentional.
"I gave all my best to Soto, all my pitches," Perdomo said after Tuesday's game. "He got the home run against me. And then against Machado, I just tried to come in and went too far in and hit him by mistake."
Shelton feels the same way.
"Ball just got away from him; it hit him," the manager said. "The umpires got together, which they're supposed to do. After they got together, they decided on an ejection."
