New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers defended the team's offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett after he was subject to brutal remarks by Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton.

Rodgers found Payton's comments about Hackett surprising and out of character for a coach to do that to a fellow coach.
"I think it was way out of line, inappropriate, and I think he needs to keep my coaches' names out of his mouth," the future Hall-of-Famer said.
The four-time MVP feels bad that the Broncos' head coach, who has accomplished a lot in the league, is insecure enough to blast another man down publicly.
Payton also criticized this year's Jets team, saying they could suffer a similar fate to the much-hyped 2022 Broncos. Denver notably acquired star quarterback Russell Wilson during last year's offseason, but the team finished with a poor 5-12 record, way behind expectations.

Sean Payton rips Nathaniel Hackett
The new Broncos head coach took a massive jab at Hackett, the coach of the ill-fated 2022 Denver Broncos squad.
Payton called Hackett's 15-game tenure one of the worst coaching jobs in NFL history, where they went 4-11, considered the worst season of star QB Russell Wilson.
"Everybody's got a little stink on their hands. It's not just Russell [Wilson]. It was a [poor] offensive line. It might have been one of the worst coaching jobs in the history of the NFL," Payton said in an interview with USA Today.
The Super Bowl XLIV winning coach soon apologized for the remarks, calling it a mistake.
