New signing Harry Kane had a chance to win his first professional career trophy during his first game with his new club Bayern Munich.

Coming in the 64th minute of the DFL-Supercup final against RB-Leipzig, the English striker saw action on the pitch for the first time in his new shirt.

However, the energy drink-sponsored team's midfielder Dani Olmo scored his third goal of the night to put the nail in the coffin against Bayern in the domestic cup final.

Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel apologized to their new signing for failing to end his personal trophy drought.

"I'm just sorry for Harry Kane, he probably thinks we haven't trained for four weeks. Our performance today had nothing to do with what we set out to do. It's a very bitter evening, I'm sorry," the 49-year-old tactician said.

Harry Kane's trophy drought continues

Kane would have to wait a while to win his first professional career trophy for club and country.

The 30-year-old's former team, Tottenham Hotspur, dodged a barrage of ridicule from fans who would have said that their former star won a trophy in his first club game out of the London-based side.

Kane, the England national team's all-time leading goalscorer, signed a four-year contract with the German side, giving him ample time to achieve the elusive career milestone.
