The Denver Broncos have trimmed their roster like most NFL teams, and one unfortunate player who did not make it was veteran nose tackle Mike Purcell, according to multiple reports.
It should be noted that the 32-year-old nose tackle started training camp with an injury. Purcell did agree to a restructured contract with the Broncos last week, and the belief is that he will eventually be re-signed to the active roster of Denver for the 2023 NFL season.
Aside from Purcell, other players who were cut include K'Waun Williams, P.J. Locke, and Alex Palczewski, according to Mike Klis of 9News.
Klis added that aside from Purcell, other players could end up re-signing with the Denver Broncos, including Fabian Moreau, Lil'Jordan Humphrey, and Quinn Bailey. NFL teams can recall players from the short-term injured reserve during the season, although this is limited to just eight players returning.

"Yeah, we're working through that. There will be a few of those that you'll see in the next 24 hours," Broncos general manager George Paton said in a report by Denver Sports.
Notably, the former Wyoming Cowboy was a virtual no-show in the offseason and started training camp on the non-football injury list. He is coming off off-season surgery and was only activated off the list but through a restructured deal.
Regardless, Purcell is a proven veteran who is considered vital to the defensive matrix of the Broncos. Although he has taken on different roles for Denver, he remains an integral part of the team's defensive rotation.
