Kordell Stewart and his reality TV star wife are now officially divorced, according HipHollywood.com.
In proceedings that became so contentious Porsha Stewart openly insinuated her now ex-husband might be gay and he referred to her as a "hoodrat," the couple battled back and forth from the moment the Real Housewives of Atlanta star Porsha claimed this summer she only learned of the former NFL quarterback's plans to divorce her over Twitter.
In a statement to HipHollywood, representatives for Stewart stated, "Kordell and Porsha were able to come to an agreement, and the divorce is now final. Porsha will now have the life she so desperately desires. We are also hopeful that Porsha will stop vilifying Kordell at every opportunity. For reasons we cannot understand, she displayed a reckless abandonment for anything close to the truth over the last eight months."
After previously insisting she would be keeping the Stewart last name, the website also reports Porsha Stewart now plans to go back to her maiden surname of Williams.
"Porsha previously stated she was keeping Kordell's last name, which made Kordell very concerned about the damage it could cause," his reps told HipHollywood. "However, she reconsidered and decided to restore her maiden name, Williams. Kordell now believes he can restore the Stewart name and brand, for which it has been known through many generations, one of character, integrity, honesty and truthfulness."
