Barcelona forward Ansu Fati is set to be loaned out to a surprising Premier League side.

Brighton & Hove Albion won the sweepstakes for the talented young player, and they will enjoy the services of Fati until June 2024, according to Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The deal will not come with any buyback option, allowing the dynamic forward to return to the defending La Liga champions next season.

The 20-year-old was previously linked to a move to London clubs Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea, who were the two front-runners until Brighton made a convincing proposal to the player.

Fati was reportedly enticed by Brighton's playing style and the coaching of the Italian Roberto de Zerbi, who personally spoke with the player regarding his role in the team.

A former player, de Zerbi mentored Brighton in a sixth-place finish in the Premier League in 2022-23, qualifying in their first European competition in history at the UEFA Europa League this season.

Joao Felix to Barcelona looking more probable

The arrival of a Portuguese winger to the Spanish giants is more likely to happen now following the temporary departure of Fati, which will free up the books.

Felix stated last month that he intends to play for Barcelona after a falling out with Diego Simeone, manager of his current club, Atletico Madrid.

Meanwhile, the Barcelona board is now working on how to land Felix despite their financial trouble. The 23-year-old could come via a loan deal to alleviate the financial burden.
