Luka Doncic of Slovenia was not around in the final minutes of their game against Canada in the FIBA World Cup 2023, a quarterfinal match they eventually lost, 100-89 on Wednesday, September 6.

The Dallas Mavericks star was ejected with 6:37 left in the fourth quarter after picking up his second technical foul for arguing with game officials, the Associated Press reported.

"The referees told to one of the guys: 'We're not gonna call a foul on [Dillon Brooks] because he's coming at us.' ... I know I complain a lot, but I don't think it's fair," the 24-year-old All-Star guard said about the officiating at the post-game interview.

Doncic comments on Gilgeous-Alexander

Of the two, Doncic admitted that Gilgeous-Alexander is one of the top players in the world and that it was pretty tough to contain him.

Regardless, the win by Canada pushes them into the final four of the FIBA World Cup together with Germany. The Germans won over Latvia, 81-79, and will face the United States in the semifinal round on Friday, September 8.
