New York Giants wide receiver Sterling Shepard was not happy with how his team started off their 2023 campaign.
"We got our teeth kicked in tonight. We've got to bite that and come back to work," the 30-year-old veteran said.
Shepard, who was drafted by the Giants in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft with the 40th overall pick, certainly did not like how he opened his seventh season in the league after his team suffered a brutal 40-0 loss against division rivals Dallas Cowboys on Sunday at home at the MetLife Stadium.
Dallas' performance despite the rainy conditions were remarkable, with running back Tony Pollard notably scoring two touchdowns.
Cowboys star quarterback Dak Prescott did not even score a single touchdown pass, passing 13-of-24 for 143 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions in the dominant win. The two-time Pro Bowl selection sat out during the last 11 minutes of the game.

Giants were booed by fans
The team were ferociously jeered by their own home fans as they went to the locker room at halftine, down 26-0.
Giants safety Xavier McKinney called the loss embarrassing, but said that the team needs to get over with the loss and keep climbing.
"It happened. So obviously you have to embrace it a little bit. You have to understand, 'Where do you go from here?' That's what it is for us now," the 24-year-old said.
The Giants are looking to bounce back against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday at Phoenix.
