Tommy Pham was one of the players the New York Mets took in in the offseason, part of a group initially seen to help push the team to the MLB postseason.
Unfortunately, that never came to fruition with the Mets wheeling and dealing multiple names to replenish their depleted farm system, the New York Post reported.
Tommy Pham was among several players dealt away by the Mets at the August 1 deadline. The other players shipped out included Max Scherzer, Justin Verlander, David Robertson, Mark Canha, and Dominic Leone.

Given the Mets' change of plans, Pham was left befuddled by how the season unraveled. The MLB trade was a development he did not anticipate.
"Before the season, I didn't think it would happen, so I didn't make arrangements," Pham said. "What I mean by that is in [Cincinnati last year], I had an idea, so I got a small apartment. I packed very light. Here, I did the opposite because I didn't think the Mets would be selling."
Regardless, what the Mets lost was what the Arizona Diamondbacks won. The 35-year-old outfielder proved his stock when he returned to Citi Field on Monday against his former team, MLB.com reported.
Pham crushed a game-tying home to center field in the eighth inning, completing a 4-3 comeback win of the D-Backs against the Mets.
Pham still respects the Mets
Despite the path the New York Mets followed, Pham did show his appreciation to team manager Buck Showalter and Francisco Lindor for protecting the rest of the team.
"The way he handled it, he never threw a player under the bus. He took accountability and took all the heat. It makes you respect him even more. Lindor the same. As bad as the season was for us as a team, Lindor took everything," Pham said.
