Free agent power forward Markieff Morris has sent a huge warning to Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic regarding an incident nearly two years ago.

The reigning NBA Finals MVP infamously shoved Morris after the latter gave a hard foul during a November 2021 game between the Nuggets and Miami Heat, who coincidentally met in this year's NBA Finals.

Morris spoke on the incident this week on the All The Smoke Podcast with former NBA players Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson, vowing to get back on Jokic for the hit.

"Sucker shot. That's what we call it in my hood. Took a sucker shot. They call it snuck. He snuck me. It was a sucker shot. He's gonna get his, though. Don't trip," the 34-year-old said.

Following the incident, Jokic was suspended for one game without pay, while Morris was fined $50,000.

"It's a stupid play, I feel bad. I'm not supposed to react that way, but it's in the middle of the game, I get hit ... I just needed to protect myself," Jokic said back in 2021 after the incident.

Morris missed a lot of games due to the incident

Morris sustained a whiplash from the incident and missed a significant chunk of the 2021-22 NBA season because of it.

The 2020 Los Angeles Lakers championship team member returned to the court in March, missing a total of 58 games.
