The New York Jets face the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 4 action on Sunday, October 1, in what most expect to be played under electrifying conditions at the Metlife Stadium.

American pop icon Taylor Swift will be in attendance, which was confirmed recently by Michael McCarthy of Front Office Sports as her reported romance with Travis Kelce continues.

Regardless, the Jets are expected to play spoiler on Sunday. A potential villain is someone very familiar with Kelce, his former Cincinnati Bears college teammate and current Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner.

Gardner knows he may be lined up to defend the 33-year-old when they face each other this weekend. The 23-year-old cornerback is hardly fazed about the idea and believes he can stand his ground, the New York Post reported.

"I do expect that," he said. "I think I match up with him pretty well. It's just me. I know myself."

Aside from that, the 2022 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year is familiar with Travis Kelce, dating back to their college days.

Gardner's take on Kelce-Swift rumored romance

An added sidelight to the Chiefs-Jets game is Taylor Swift. Will her presence matter to Gardner and company? This is what he had to say:

"That ain't got nothing to do with me," he said. "I rock with Trav. He went to UC, UC alum. We're going to compete between the white lines."

The Jets are dealing with their share of problems, especially after losing Aaron Rodgers to injury. They are on a two-game losing streak and will aim to snap that on Sunday Night Football.

The Chiefs are -9.5 favorites to prevail over the Jets according to BetMGM NFL Odds via USA Today - another reality that the Jets will face.
