The Pittsburgh Steelers have acquired the services of wide receiver Denzel Mims to bolster their struggling offense this season. So far, the Steelers have scored single digits twice this season.
The 25-year-old will join the Steelers practice squad and is poised to showcase his skills in a fresh environment.
Mims was selected by the New York Jets in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft with the 59th overall pick, where he spent the past three seasons.
In his NFL career spanning 30 games with 15 starts, he has accumulated 42 receptions for 676 yards but has yet to score a touchdown. Last year, he recorded 11 receptions for 186 yards in 10 games for New York.
The former Baylor University player was traded to the Detroit Lions last July alongside a 2025 conditional seventh-round draft pick in exchange for a 2025 conditional sixth-round draft selection.
However, he was waived by the Lions a month later after suffering from a leg injury that led to a calf injury.
