Bucks: Damian Lillard Should Be Grateful Joining a Winner, Ex-NBA Enforcer Says

Damian Lillard has found a new home with the Milwaukee Bucks following the blockbuster trade involving the Portland Trail Blazers and the Phoenix Suns.

The seven-time All-Star preferred to move to the Miami Heat, where he could join Jimmy Butler, NBA.com reported. However, he may have gotten something better if he wanted to win an NBA title.

One person who believes he is in the right place to win is former NBA enforcer Matt Barnes. He admitted that he is excited for the 33-year-old and believes that teaming up with Giannis Antetokounmpo is the right formula to win an NBA title, TMZ reported.

"Obviously he wanted to go to Miami. That didn't happen, but for him to have the opportunity to win, I think is the key and the goal and him teaming up with Giannis [Antetokounmpo] is definitely gonna give him a great opportunity to win a championship," the 43-year-old Barnes said when he spoke on the "All The Smoke" podcast.

Although the Bucks won the NBA titles in 2021, the Miami Heat also had their share of glory and have made the NBA Finals twice since the 2020 NBA season.

Hence, it will be an interesting season for the Bucks and the Heat this 2023-24 season. Both teams will clash on October 31 at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee.
