Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay disclosed why he may miss their upcoming game against the Arizona Cardinals, to be held this coming Sunday, October 15.
In his press conference on Friday, October 13, the 37-year-old head coach shared that his wife, Veronika, is expected to give birth to their son and that he will not be able to coach if the delivery falls on a game day.
McVay, who led the team to victory in Super Bowl LVI, added that their baby's arrival is imminent in the next few weeks and could occur at any moment.
"Really feel fortunate that it's been a smooth pregnancy. My wife has been incredible. It hasn't quite hit me yet. He's active and it seems like he's ready to come at any moment. What a blessing that'll be," the 2017 Associated Press NFL Coach of the Year shared.

Who will coach the Rams?
The Rams have not shared a contingency plan should McVay need to be with his family.
However, the team's defensive coordinator, Raheem Morris, who joined the Rams in 2021, brings prior experience as a former head coach.
Morris notably served as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach from 2009 to 2011 and held an interim position with the Atlanta Falcons in 2020.
Additionally, he was considered for several head-coaching roles during the recent offseason.
