The Philadelphia Eagles have made a significant move ahead of the NFL trade deadline set on Tuesday, October 31.
The recent Super Bowl runners-up have acquired safety Kevin Byard in a trade with the Tennessee Titans on Monday, October 23.
In exchange, the Titans will receive safety Terrell Edmunds, a 2024 fifth-round pick, and a 2024 sixth-round pick.
Byard was drafted by the Titans in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft, chosen as the 64th overall pick. Before the trade, he had spent his entire career with the team.
The 30-year-old safety was recognized with First Team All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors in 2017 and 2021.
Byard has accumulated 47 tackles and secured one fumble recovery in the six games played so far this season for the Titans.
The esteemed safety said his goodbyes to the Titans in a heartfelt message he shared on social media.

Homecoming for Kevin Byard
The trade sees the return of Byard to Philadelphia, where he was born and raised until he moved to Atlanta, Georgia, at 14 when his parents divorced in 2007.
In the 2017 NFL season, Byard emerged as the co-leader for the most interceptions and led the league in takeaways, securing a total of ten, which included eight interceptions and two fumble recoveries, all during his second season in the professional league.
