New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones sustained an unfortunate injury during their Sunday Night Football showdown against the Las Vegas Raiders on November 5.

Initial reports say that the 26-year-old suffered from an ACL tear on his right knee, but an MRI will be scheduled on Monday, November 6 to determine the full extent of the injury. Jones had returned to play on Sunday after sitting out the previous three games due to a neck injury.

The Giants ultimately crumbled, losing 30-6 at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Jones had completed 4 of 9 passes for 25 yards before his departure.

Should the MRI confirm an ACL tear, it would undoubtedly be a significant setback for the Giants, considering their substantial investment in their starting quarterback, whose salary ranks among the highest in the position.

With that being said, how much is Daniel Jones earning in his current deal with the Giants?

Daniel Jones contract value, length, and other bonuses

Last March, Jones committed to a four-year contract extension valued at $160 million to continue with the Giants, as per various sources.

Jones' contract places him as the ninth quarterback in NFL history to have surpassed the $40 million annual average value threshold.

Of the total amount, $82 million is guaranteed, encompassing a $36 million signing bonus, his 2023 and 2024 salaries, and his workout bonuses for both years.

In September, the Giants restructured the contract, aiming to generate more cap space and enhance flexibility for potential roster adjustments.

As part of this restructuring, the team transformed $8.42 million of Jones' $9.5 million 2023 base salary into a signing bonus, resulting in an increase of $6.315 million in cap space for the season.

For the 2023 season, the former Duke standout will receive a base salary of $1.08 million, along with a signing bonus of $36 million, and a restructure bonus of $8.42 million resulting from the previously mentioned contract adjustment, per Spotrac.

Furthermore, he is eligible for a $500,000 workout bonus, bringing his total compensation for 2023 to $46 million.

Throughout the remainder of the contract, Jones will be compensated with his base salary and workout bonus:

2024 season: $35,500,000 (base salary) + $500,000 (workout bonus) = $36 million (fully guaranteed)

2025 season: $30,000,000 (base salary) + $500,000 (workout bonus) = $30.5 million

2026 season: $46,500,000 (base salary) + $500,000 (workout bonus) + $500,000 (roster bonus) = $47.5 million.

Before securing the new contract, Jones had accumulated a total of $26,129,056 during his initial four seasons in the NFL. He was selected by the Giants as the sixth overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.
