Tonight at 10:30 p.m. ET, the Minnesota Wild (18-9-5, 41 points) and Anaheim Ducks (21-7-5, 47 points) hit the ice at the Honda Center in Anaheim in the second of three meetings against each other this season. The game can be live streamed here. Minnesota fans can hear all of the hard-hitting action on KFAN 100.3 while Anaheim fans can do the same on KLAA 830.
Minnesota has dominated at home but is just 5-6-3 on the road while Anaheim enters play having not lost yet in regulation at home, boasting an 11-0-2 record in the Honda Center. The first time these two teams met, the Ducks beat the Wild 4-3 in Minnesota in overtime on Oct. 5.
Coming off of big wins, Anaheim notched its third straight victory on Monday by defeating the New York Islanders.
"We're only human, and we knew last week was a big emotional week for us," forward Corey Perry told NHL.com. "Those were big games for us, but we had to get ourselves up for this one as well."
Perry is second on the Ducks with 35 points and is third in the league with 20 goals while adding 15 assists while Ryan Getzlaf is on a 12-game point streak and is fourth in the league with 37 points off of 16 tallies and 21 assists and Dustin Penner has nine goals and 14 assists for 23 points.
The Wild are coming off of a 3-1 win over the San Jose Sharks at home Sunday, but coach Mike Yeo is tired of his team turning the puck over.
"We just can't continue to turn pucks over in the neutral zone," Yeo said Tuesday, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune. "We can't continue to turn pucks over on the wall and expect to No. 1 win games, but to create offense, to get to the offensive zone, to draw penalties."
Minnesota has been led by captain Zach Parise, who scored twice Sunday and paces the team in points with 26 off of 14 goals and 12 assists while Mikko Koivu has lit the lamp seven times and added 17 assists for 24 points and Jason Pominville has found the back of the net 14 times and added seven helpers for 21 points.
Josh Harding is the probable goalie for the Wild and is third in the league with 16 wins for a 16-4-3 record and has an NHL-best 1.50 goals-against average while his .938 save percentage ranks second in the league. Jonas Hiller is likely to get the start for Anaheim between the pipes and is 11-4-4 with a 2.57 GAA and a .913 save percentage.
The Wild look to limit their turnovers while Anaheim goes for a fourth straight win when the lights come up tonight at the Honda Center in Anaheim.
