Media personality Stephen A. Smith is someone who will not hold back, and his latest target was Zion Williamson of the New Orleans Pelicans. The former top pick has been the topic of discussion as of late as he continues to struggle with weight issues.

Smith watched the NBA In-Season tournament semifinal game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the New Orleans Pelicans. Williamson had a woeful outing, drawing heavy criticism in that loss to the eventual In-Season tournament-winning Lakers.

The 56-year-old shared a glaring observation on Williamson tied to his weight issues.

"He looks fat. ... Zion Williamson, who's more than 15 years younger but 40 pounds heavier [than LeBron James] went to the free throw line. I saw a belly," said Smith. "Like, when he took a deep breath, his belly bounced. That kind of belly. ... What's up Zion?" Smith said on "The Stephen A. Smith Show."

Is Williamson even battling the bulge?

While most know that Williamson has been criticized for being overweight, the big question is whether the 23-year-old is even trying to trim down.

It should be noted that there is a weight clause in Williamson's contract with the Pelicans. The franchise has repeatedly stressed this, but there are claims that the 6-foot-6 forward is allegedly ignoring it and doesn't listen, Christian Clark of the New Orleans Times-Picayune reported.

His weight problem has been notable in his stint with the Pelicans. He has been held out of action due to injuries, and his recent subpar performance only worsens it.

So far, in 19 games, Williamson is averaging 22.2 points, 5.6 rebounds and 4.8 assists in 22.2 minutes of action per Basketball-Reference.
