There are NFL players who like the old-school approach. Some want a revolutionized coaching technique.
Seattle Seahawks players are probably leaning toward the latter now as their season reaches a disappointing end.
The team came to the new season with so much hype, expected to be out there and content for the title.
That is not what's happening and in the past month, they are drifting farther and farther away from a post-season appearance.
They won against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 15 but words have been said.
With the season on the line, fingers are being pointed to find an excuse for a miserable season.

One of the primary issues hounding the Seattle Seahawks is Pete Carroll and his relationship with players. His coaching style is being blamed for the players' struggle.
1. What does Carroll think of their struggle?
His views of his players will probably change but before their much-needed victory against the Eagles, Carroll called out some of his men for underperforming.
"We gave it to them. Kittle in short yardage, in a play-action pass, their heavy personnel. He's been doing that for his whole career," Carroll said, via Gregg Bell of The News Tribune. "There was nothing new about those things. We didn't execute well enough to stop those opportunities. That's the stuff we practiced, and we needed to come through and make those plays. We didn't do it."
He specifically called out Julian Love for not doing what was planned.
Against the Eagles, Love made the game-saving play to secure a 20-17 victory to snap their four-game losing streak.
2. Carroll 'sick and tired' of his players
KJ Writing, a Seahawks legend, suggested, too, that his former coach's relationship with the players is getting worse as Carroll's game designs are not executed well enough.
"What I'm hearing from Coach Carroll is that he's sick and tired of these guys," Wright said in his own show.
"That he's extremely frustrated. That he's preaching to them and he's trying to be nice with them but they're just not receiving his messaging well. They essentially don't give a damn about what he's saying at this point."
3. Players feel the same?
Seahawks players should feel worried about where they are headed but part of the struggle, according to some NFL insiders, is the lack of innovating game calls from the part of Carroll.
Wright suggested that the players are not backing up the system of Carroll, the oldest head coach in the league at 72.
The report blames Carroll's old-school approach and stagnant play calling on the field.
Running backs coach and run-game coordinator Chad Morton stands by Carroll.
"It has worked," he told The Athletic.
"We know it's worked. It gives guys confidence. They know not to panic on anything. Then we've got to keep battling and finding our way. That's by far the best thing that he does."
4. What do records say about Carroll's system?
The statistics do not reflect what Morton pushes. Seahawks defense after Week 14, is 28th in the league with a 367-yard average. They are also one of the worst teams when it comes to touchdowns allowed with 36. Their passing defense is 25th while rushing defense is 23rd.
