Mack Brown Texas Future: Insists He Will 'Decide On His Own' To Stay Or Go As Longhorns Coach [VIDEO]

Mack Brown insists he will "decide on his own" if he will stay or go as coach of the Texas Longhorns, according to CollegeFootballTalk.com.

An attorney for Brown told the website that despite all the rumors and speculation, the UT administration has not asked or demanded that the longtime coach step down and that "they're leaving the decision to him."

Joe Jameil later added "he'll make that decision when the time comes and when he thinks it's best for the university."

Brown fell under heavy criticism this season after the Longhorns finished 8-4 and dropped two of their last three games by more than 20 points, including the Big 12 title game to cross-state rival Baylor.

Through all the chaos, Brown has remained committed to his responsibilities, hitting the recruiting trail and staying in contact with potential recruits.

"I talked to Mack Tuesday night on the phone and basically he was saying it wasn't true, that he wants to be at Texas," Texas high school and 2014 Longhorn verbal Armanti Foreman told CollegeFootballTalk. "He was out recruiting and he wouldn't be out recruiting if he didn't want to stay. So, I mean, he really wants to stay."
