Two teams try to solidify their playoff standing this weekend as the 2023 National Football League season crunch time sets in.

The Dolphins vs Cowboys Week 16 match has huge implications for the two teams' division title quest.

The Cowboys have clinched a playoff spot already but the National Football Conference East is still at play as the Philadelphia Eagles are above them although with an identical 10-4 record.

For the Dolphins, they have a 99 percent chance of making the playoffs. They are atop the American Football Conference East and the Buffalo Bills are far behind in second with an 8-6 record.

The issue remaining is where they will be in the playoff picture. Both the Dolphins and Cowboys still have a chance for a bye in the postseason. To lose this game means to wave goodbye to that advantage.

Kick-off is on December 24 at 4:25 pm EST at the Hard Rock Stadium. Fans who can't be in the stadium can catch the game at Fox TV.

Dolphins vs. Cowboys Week 16 Odds, Spread, Betting Lines

The game is a tough call for bettors as both teams are even in almost every department. The Cowboys had a tough time last week but they can sure light things up on any given day.

Spread: Miami Dolphins -1, Dallas Cowboys +1

Moneyline: Dolphins (-110); Cowboys (-110)

Over/under: 49.5

Dolphins vs. Cowboys Week 16 Preview

The Dallas Cowboys are not doing so great on road games and they will be having their second straight at Miami after losing the first one at Buffalo Bills.

Combining this with the fact that Miami protects their home well makes this game a huge challenge for the Cowboys.

The Bills run the ball a lot last week and that exposed Cowboys' defense. The Dolphins are better than the Bills in that department. They are the number one team in terms of yards per carry and in rushing touchdowns scored.

It even gets worse for the Cowboys as seven-time Pro Bowl Tyreek Hill could be back in the line-up.

Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons, one of the best in his position, knows how much of a threat Hill is.

"Tyreek knows I am faster than him. It's not fun at all when you're getting ready to go against someone like Tyreek Hill because I know I got to run faster than I ever have all year," Parsons said.

"I might hit a miles per hour mach speed chasing someone like him. ... It's fascinating to watch it, but when you're actually playing in it, it's like, 'Ahh damn, I gotta deal with this s--t now, damn.' But it's cool."

For the Cowboys to have a chance in this game, quarterback Dak Prescott needs to find his MVP form again. As the leader of the league's No. 6 passing offense and second-best scoring offense, they will go where Prescott takes them.

Dolphins vs. Cowboys Week 16 Pick

The Dolphins are 9-5-0 this season against the spread and 8-2 whenever projected as 1.5 favorites.

Final score: 27-20, Dolphins
