Tonight at 8:00 p.m. ET, the Colorado Avalanche (20-9-0, 40 points) and Winnipeg Jets (14-14-4, 32 points) go head-to-head live from the MTS Centre in Winnipeg for the second of five meetings against each other this season. The game can be live streamed here. Colorado fans can hear all of the action on KRWZ 950 while Winnipeg fans can do the same on TSN 1290.
Colorado has been on an offensive drought and has lost three of its last four games while Winnipeg is just one point out of the Central Division cellar entering play. The last time these two teams met, the Avalanche topped the Jets 3-2 on Oct. 27 in Colorado.
The Avalanche's lack of scoring haunted them again on Tuesday in a 3-1 loss to the Phoenix Coyotes.
''We aren't scoring enough goals,'' Paul Stastny told NHL.com. ''Our guys have to do more to put goals on the board. Plain and simple.''
The Jets are coming off of a 2-1 loss at home to the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday.
"So far this year after losing a game like that we seem to bounce back and play pretty well the next game, so I kind of expect that again," Bryan Little said Wednesday per NHL.com. "To lose a game like [Tuesday] in the last few minutes, it was a tough one and guys were pretty upset about it. But guys are moving on. That's part of the maturing process, putting a loss like that behind us and worrying about the next one."
Little has points in three of his last five games and leads the Jets with 13 goals and 15 assists for 28 points while Andrew Ladd (eight goals, 14 assists) and Dustin Byfuglien (six goals, 16 assists) each have 22 points.
Gabriel Landeskog leads the Avalanche with 22 points off of nine goals and 13 assists and has points in four of his last six games while Matt Duchene has found the back of the net 12 times and added nine helpers for 21 points and P.A. Parenteau has nine goals and nine assists for 18 points.
Semyon Varlamov is the probable goalie for Colorado and is 13-8-0 with a 2.46 goals-against average and a .922 save percentage while Ondrej Pavelec is likely to start for Winnipeg and is 10-12-3 with a 2.73 GAA and a .913 save percentage this season.
The Avalanche will try to get their offense going while Winnipeg looks to dig its way out of the Pacific Division cellar when the puck drops at the MTS Centre tonight in Winnipeg.
