Tonight at 10:30 p.m. ET, the Minnesota Wild (18-10-5, 41 points) and San Jose Sharks (19-6-6, 44 points) faceoff live from the SAP Center in San Jose in the second of three meetings against each other this season. The game can be live streamed here. Minnesota fans can hear all of the hard-hitting action on KFAN 100.3 while San Jose fans can do the same on KFOX 102.1.
San Jose has lost four straight games and will look to end the skid while Minnesota is coming off of a hard-fought loss. The last time these two teams met was four days ago when the Wild beat the Sharks 3-1 in Minnesota.
The Sharks fell to 0-3-1 in their last four games after blowing a 2-0 third period lead to the New York Islanders on Tuesday and falling 3-2 in the shootout.
"You go into the third with a 2-0 lead, you want to close out those games," Sharks captain Joe Thornton said via NHL.com.
Thornton leads the team with 32 points off of five goals and 27 assists while Patrick Marleau (14 goals, 16 assists) and Logan Couture (10 tallies, 20 helpers) each have 30 points. Marleau has two goals and two assists in his past three games.
The Wild were involved in a goalie duel on Wednesday night and eventually fell 2-1 to the Anaheim Ducks.
"Defensively, I think we're good," Mikko Koivu told NHL.com. "Offensively, we have to find it, each and every line. We have to create more. It's tough to win with one goal ... it's a matter of scoring goals, getting that confidence up. It's not easy but it's about execution. You just have to start creating and find a way."
Koivu is second on the team with seven goals and 18 assists for 25 points while Zach Parise leads the team with 26 points off of 14 tallies and 12 helpers and Jason Pominville has points in five of the last six games for a season total of 22 off of 15 goals and seven assists.
Josh Harding is probable to start for the Wild and is 16-5-3 with a 1.52 goals-against average and a .938 save percentage while Antti Niemi is likely to start for the Sharks and is 16-5-6 so far this season with a 2.28 GAA and a .914 save percentage.
Both teams look to bounce back from losses when the puck drops on the Wild and the Sharks at the SAP Center tonight in San Jose.
