The roller coaster of the season for the Los Angeles Lakers continues

After a string of bad losses, the Lakers have found themselves creeping back to .500 after picking up two big wins against the Dallas Mavericks and the Oklahoma City Thunder.

It was the second consecutive win for the LakeShow since December 12.  These two wins against some of the best squads in the Western Conference, and this marks the team's fourth win out of their last six games.  The Lakers now find themselves gaining some good momentum just a few weeks before the all-star break.

It may be too soon to say the Lakers are back, however, there have been some positive signs that they may be turning the ship around heading towards the mid-way point of the season.

Both LeBron James and Anthony Davis continue to contribute big time for the Laker' in the two back-to-back wins.

In their win against the Dallas Mavericks, Davis had 28 points to go with 12 rebounds and nine assists. He was also huge in their previous matchup against the Thunder going for 27/15/5.

James, in his 21st season in the NBA, has looked just as good; scoring 25 points in the win against the Mavericks.

Getting strong play from your Hall of Fame-bound one-two punch is crucial for the Lakers.  But also solid play from Lakers role players has aided them as well in these past few games.

D'Angelo Russell, who rejoined the starting lineup earlier in the week for the Lakers' loss against the Jazz, was paired in the backcourt with Austin Reeves; Russell tallied 29 points against the Mavs.  Shooting guard Austin Reeves also looked strong with a 14-point performance in their win against the Mavericks.

The team has also seen major key contributions from Jarred Vanderbilt, who's missed some time this season due to a heel injury.  Vanderbilt came up huge on the defense in their win.

Los Angeles Lakers: Trade Deadline Decisions

The Lakers may be active in the midst of the NBA trade deadline, looking to continue to make moves to improve their roster.

According to ESPN Reporter Dave McMenamin, big names like Hawks guard Dejounte Murray and Chicago Bulls wing Zach Lavine are just a couple names linked to the Lakers.

The Lakers may also be interested in trading for Wizards guard Tyus Jones and Jazz guard Collin Sexton to provide back court depth.

The Lakers are no strangers to making trade deadline moves.  Last season the team shook up their roster by making several moves that brought in players like D'Angelo Russell and Jarred Vanderbilt; all who were key contributors to their late season push to make the NBA Play-In Tournament as well as the Western Conference Finals last season.

The Los Angeles Lakers hope to keep the good times rolling in their next matchup against the Brooklyn Nets.
