Ex-NFL guard turned Fox broadcaster Mark Schlereth strongly criticized Russell Wilson and the Denver Broncos during an appearance at the Pat McAfee Show on Thursday, March 7.
The 58-year-old pointed out that Wilson has been a subpar quarterback in the last couple of years. He emphasized that the nine-time Pro Bowl selection has declined, highlighting his shortcomings like avoiding throws in the middle of the football field and a lack of anticipation.
Schlereth also dismissed the statistical argument, stating that 26 touchdowns and eight interceptions are misleading.
"You can sit here and tell me all day long, 26 TDs and 8 Interceptions, I'll tell you garbage numbers. Like the things he does, he's just not good enough anymore, so we've got to move on from that," Schlereth said.

Schlereth also openly criticized the Denver Broncos organization, the team he was a part of from 1995 to 2000, securing two Super Bowl victories.
"For eight years, this place has been garbage. The Denver Broncos were a crown jewel in the National Football League, and they're not [anymore]. They're irrelevant, and we keep putting band aids on things and we think that's going to fix it," the 1998 George Halas Award recipient said.
Despite the rant, he ultimately praised Broncos head coach Sean Payton for recognizing the need for change and viewing Wilson's release as a positive step in the right direction.
