Seahawks 'Unlikely' to Keep Nine-Time Pro Bowl Linebacker Following Career Season

The Seattle Seahawks are set to potentially lose longtime linebacker Bobby Wagner, as he is expected to test the market and enter free agency, NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reported.

The 33-year-old is coming off a sensational season in his second stint with the Seahawks, during which he had a career-high of 183 tackles (96 solo tackles, 87 assisted tackles), 3.5 sacks, and 1 fumble recovery across 17 regular-season games in 2023.

Wagner has devoted most of his career to the Seahawks, joining them from his rookie year in 2012 until 2021. During this period, he earned First Team All-Pro honors six times and secured victory in Super Bowl XLVIII during the 2013 season.

A member of the NFL 2010s All-Decade Team, Wagner's 1,566 tackles as a Seahawk are the highest in team history.

Bobby Wagner may leave the Seahawks for the second time

The former Utah State player moved for one season with the Los Angeles Rams in 2022, signing a five-year, $50 million contract. He performed decently, doing well enough to garner Second Team All-Pro honors, but missed the Pro Bowl.

However, the 2023 Art Rooney Award recipient was released the following year after the Rams needed cap space, and Wagner wanted to be on a winning team.

Wagner then returned to Seattle before the 2023 season, signing a one-year deal worth $7 million.
