Fans highly anticipate Conor McGregor's next fight, but after making his Hollywood debut, it looks like it will not be coming anytime soon.
The Irish fighter last appeared in the octagon in July 2021, losing to Dustin Poirier via doctor's stoppage. This fight is a rematch from their previous fight in January of the same year, which he also lost.
Does he have a future in acting?
Conor McGregor's Road House performance has not been well received by fans, and the film has an average rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
"Pretty awful acting from McGregor, I'm afraid. Brought an already average movie down further," said one moviegoer through the X app.
Another added: "Decent movie, not much acting for Mr. McGregor tho."
The 35-year-old MMA fighter plays opposite Jake Gyllenhaal, who plays Edward Dalton, a former UFC middleweight fighter who stepped away from the game due to controversies.
The ghost of his past kept haunting him and they finally met head-to-head when he came across McGregor's character Knox after he was hired as a head bouncer of road house bar.
His job became complicated when he apprehended thugs employed by a wealthy businessman. Knox was the henchman he had to fend off and things got troublesome for him since then.
McGregor was hired in the film for his UFC skills/experience and star power.
He has been among the biggest stars in mixed martial arts in the past five years, and based on the movie's ending (spoiler alert), Knox and Dalton might have another showdown.

Fans who want to see him fighting in UFC again might need to wait a little longer as it appears that McGregor has a new priority now.
Talking to TMZ, the former UFC Featherweight champion said he enjoyed the film's shooting and the show business aspect of it.
"I didn't know how I was going to take to it. I didn't know whether I was going to like it, to be honest," he said.
"I'm a fighting man - that's my bread and butter. It's where I come from... I'm not an actor, but I'm show business. That was my vibe to it. I felt that. I enjoyed every second of it."
Many fighters have transitioned from MMA fighter to actor. There is Ronda Rousey, Georges St-Pierre, Michael Bisping, and Gina Carano.
Sports people turning to Hollywood for the next phase of their career has become the norm for many. Even NFL champion and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is already planning to follow in the footsteps of Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson once he retires.
Conor McGregor has the same plan and is looking up to former bodybuilder Arnold Schwarzenegger for his next career path.
"Arnold's first debut into the movie game was very similar," he told The Sun.
"Boom, lands down, solid as a rock. If Arnie done it, and f****** look at his career, I said maybe I'm onto something. I just rocked with it, and I channeled the inner Arnie, the inner Terminator there and just rocked on."
