The Los Angeles Lakers appear to be peaking at the right time and poised to repeat their incredible run late last season.

Things can get more interesting for them as Gabe Vincent, whom the team acquired at the start of the season, could return soon.

Vincent had a breakout 2022-2023 season, specifically during the Miami Heat's improbable playoff run that saw the team go from being an 8th seed to reaching the NBA Finals.

He has been out since December 20.

"Lakers guard Gabe Vincent is scheduled to join team during current road trip and is expected to be available to play vs. the Nets on Sunday barring setback," Shams Charania reported via The Athletic.

Vincent has played just five games so far averaging 5.4 points per game and three assists ppg in 25 minutes.

Vince has been plagued by a knee injury since the first month of the season and decided to undergo surgery by December.

Great addition to the hot Lakers

The Lakers are on a roll right now, having won five straight games, including massive victories over the Milwaukee Bucks (without Lebron James) and Memphis Grizzlies (without Anthony Davis).

Vincent's return is great timing for the Purple and Gold, who are gearing up to steal the sixth spot in the playoffs.

They are 2.5 games behind the Dallas Mavericks for an instant postseason slot.

Vincent is a reliable defensive guard who can free up D'Angelo Russell. The bench guard rotation is short, and Vincent could make an instant impact.

Their last two weeks after the Nets will be against under .500 teams except the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Golden State Warriors.
