Phoenix Suns Devin Booker's Big Night Fuels NBA Playoffs Hopes

Devin Booker put together one of his best performances of the season, dropping 52 points against the Pelicans, bringing the Phoenix Suns closer to pulling away the sixth seed from New Orleans.

Devin Booker has scored 50 points or more in three straight games against the New Orleans Pelicans.

Booker became the second player in NBA history to score 50+ points in three straight games against any opponent. Wilt Chamberlain is the only other player to accomplish such a feat.

The Suns guard shot an efficient 67.9% from the floor and went 8 out of 16 from three to give his Suns the edge.

Phoenix Suns Could Heat Up Before the NBA Playoffs

Devin Booker's historic night could not have come at a better time for the Phoenix Suns.

Phoenix is currently fighting for a NBA Playoff spot, currently at the seventh seed trying to avoid the NBA Play-In at all costs.

Their recent stretch has seen some ups and downs in going 4-2, including wins against the Pelicans as well as against the Spurs and Nuggets.

The Suns managed to stay consistent throughout this stretch, but may need to pick it up as we approach the final week of the NBA season.

Locking up the six seed could potentially set the Suns up with a matchup against either the Oklahoma City Thunder or Minnesota Timberwolves, two clubs that have sat at the top of the NBA Western Conference all season.

The Timberwolves may be the Suns' preferred opponent, being that the Thunder have beaten Phoenix in the season series 3-1.

The Phoenix Suns have two more matchups with the Minnesota Timberwolves, which should serve as a good measuring stick to see where they stand with one of the best teams in the NBA West.
