The Mike Tyson-Jake Paul fight is going to be a professional bout and not an exhibition.

Both fighters insisted that their upcoming boxing ring match be labeled as professional, which means fans will see a full fight instead of one in which they are pulling their punches.

Several spectators were unhappy when Mike Tyson indicated it would be just an exhibition, similar to what he fought in 2020 with Roy Jones.

"This is called an exhibition, but if you look up exhibition, you won't see any of the laws we're fighting under," he said in an interview with Fox News.

"This is a fight. I don't think he's faster than me."

It is an exhibition, but Iron Mike promises he will go all out.

"I saw a YouTube of him at 16 doing weird dances. That's not the guy I'm gonna be fighting," Iron Mike said about his opponent.

"This guy is gonna come, he's gonna try to hurt me, which I'm accustomed to, and he's gonna be greatly mistaken."

Jake, 27, rose to fame through YouTube and earned the nickname "The Problem Child".

Mike Tyson, 58, is a legendary professional boxer already in the Boxing Hall of Fame.

Tyson was also a problematic sports figure back then and was nicknamed "The Baddest Man on the Planet."

Mike Tyson-Jake Paul Fight Rules

The showdown between two controversial figures will be an exhibition, which means no winner will be announced unless there is a knockout.

There will be no judges on the ringside.

Both fighters will wear 16-ounce boxing gloves instead of the traditional 10-ounce, and each round will last two minutes instead of three.

For his fight, Tyson will have to undergo more tests, specifically an electroencephalogram (EEG) and an electrocardiogram (EKG), to become eligible to fight Paul as part of the standard procedure of the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations.

All fighters 36 years old and above must secure a pass from these procedures to fight.

Tyson underwent such a process when he fought 55-year-old Roy Jones in an exhibition match around four years ago.

The Mike Tyson-Jake Paul fight will take place on July 20, 2024, at the Dallas Cowboys' AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

It will be streamed globally through Netflix.

Anthony Joshua thinks Mike Tyson-Jake Paul fight is good for boxing

While many dismiss this fight as another money-grubbing project, two-time former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua thinks the two connecting means more for the sport.

He believes their following brings more people to boxing.

Joshua delves into sports showdowns, too, having fought MMA fighter Francis Ngannou last month.

He triumphed over the Nigerian fighter in just two rounds.

As for the Mike Tyson-Jake Paul fight, he believes Paul will emerge triumphant mainly because the YouTube celebrity is younger.

"[Tyson] is older now, I pray that he comes out healthy," Joshua said on "The Jonathan Ross Show" this week. "I think Jake Paul [wins] because of youth, that's the only thing."
