Tonight at 9:30 p.m. ET, the Dallas Stars (15-11-5, 35 points) and Colorado Avalanche (21-9-1, 43 points) faceoff live from the Pepsi Center in Colorado for the third of five meetings against each other this season. This is the first game of a home-and-home as the Stars and Avalanche play in Colorado tonight before traveling to Dallas to play again on Tuesday. The Avalanche have beaten the Stars twice by 3-2 scores, the first coming on Oct. 15 in regulation in Colorado and the second coming in overtime in Dallas on Nov. 1.

The Avalanche have been led by Matt Duchene, who has 24 points off of 14 goals and 10 assists while Gabriel Landeskog has found the twine nine times and added 13 helpers for 22 points and Ryan O'Reilly has lit the lamp 10 times and added nine assists for 19 points.

Colorado enters play in a tie for third place in the Central Division with the Minnesota Wild.

The Stars play their third and final game of their current road trip and have split the first two games, winning their most recent away game in Winnipeg against the Jets 6-4 and the team will look to get the power play going after it went 2-for-5 in their last game.

"We've been getting so many chances and haven't been getting bounces," Tyler Seguin told NHL.com. "We know that the top teams in the [Western Conference] have great special teams, so we've been trying to figure that out." 

Seguin notched his second four-point night in four games against the Jets and leads the Stars with 31 points off of 17 goals and 14 assists while Jamie Benn has nine tallies and 19 helpers for 28 points and Alex Chiasson has found the back of the net eight times and added nine assists for 17 points.

The Stars projected starter is Kari Lehtonen, who is 12-7-5 with a 2.49 goals-against average and a .919 save percentage while the Avalanche has confirmed it will be going with Semyon Varlamov, who is 14-8-1 with a 2.40 GAA and a .923 save percentage.

The Stars and Avalanche take the ice for the first game of a home-and-home when the puck drops tonight at Pepsi Center in Colorado.
