Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey was awarded the 2024 NBA Most Improved Player after earning his first NBA All-Star game appearance this season.

Maxey emerged victorious over fellow finalists Chicago Bulls guard Coby White and Houston Rockets center Alperen Sengun, as announced by the league on Tuesday, April 23.

However, not everyone was pleased with the result. Some argued that White deserved to win due to his more significant leap and unexpected improvement.

White's future in the league appeared uncertain at the end of the 2022-23 season, while Maxey had a standout season and was expected to make a massive jump in 2023-24.

The Bulls even had a chance to re-sign White to a relatively undervalued deal worth $40 million over three years before his breakout 2023-24 season.

On the other hand, the complete results revealed that White appeared on more voting ballots than Maxey, with 91 compared to 79. However, Maxey garnered more first-place votes, resulting in more points overall.

Some fans think Coby White deserved 2024 Most Improved Player award

Many fans of the game argued White's case of winning the 2024 NBA Most Improved Player award over Maxey.
