Tonight at 8:00 p.m. ET, the Boston Bruins (24-10-2, 50 points) and Nashville Predators (16-16-4, 36 points) faceoff live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville for the first of two meetings against each other this season. Boston will look to improve on an 0-1-2 record against Central Division teams while Nashville hopes to snap a three-game slide.
The Bruins are hoping to get defenseman Dougie Hamilton (lower-body) back soon from injury after he skated for the first time since Dec. 8 recently.
"[Hamilton was] skating for the first time this morning," Julien told CSNNE.com. "It was his first time on the ice [since the injury], so again, we'll see how he progresses. You can only go by that status."
The Predators are dealing with injuries of their own as goaltender Pekka Rinne (hip) has already missed a significant amount of time and will miss about two more weeks.
"We're still going with [Marek Mazanec] and [Carter Hutton]," Preds general manager Dave Poile told The Tennessean. "Like anything else, since we first knew about Pekka being out we've always been looking to improve our team, be it goaltending specifically or any other area. Two more weeks, not perfect, but I think it's much better for us to be on the same page with the doctor."
Hutton is 7-5-2 with a 2.88 goals-against average and a .906 save percentage while Mazanec is 5-7-1 with a 2.61 GAA and a .913 save percentage. The Bruins will likely go with Tuukka Rask, who is 18-8-2 with a 1.87 GAA and a .936 save percentage.
Rask will look to stop a Predators lineup that is led by David Legwand, who has 25 points off of six goals and 19 assists while Shea Weber is on a five-game point streak and has nine tallies and 11 helpers for 20 points and Craig Smith has lit the lamp eight times and added 11 assists for 19 points.
David Krejci has three goals and 10 points in his last eight games and leads the Bruins with 31 points off of seven goals and 24 assists while Milan Lucic has found the back of the net 12 times and added 13 helpers for 25 points and Reilly Smith also has 25 points off of 11 markers and 14 helpers.
The Bruins will look to beat a Central Division team for the first time all season while the Predators will hope to snap a three-game skid when the puck drops at the Bridgestone Arena tonight in Nashville.
