'The Bachelor' Jesse Palmer Saves Chris Fowler's Life, Uses Heimlich To Help Choking ESPN Host [VIDEO]

Good look, successful and now a lifesaver - it's hard to believe that ESPN college football analyst Jesse Palmer still is single.

Multiple media reports picked up on tweets from ESPN broadcaster Chris Fowler, who said that Palmer saved him from choking on sandwich during halftime of the Pinstripe Bowl on Saturday.

According to USA TODAY's For the Win, Fowler tweeted after the game, "Never before needed a Heimlich at halftime. (Or any time)! thanks Jesse Palmer! He saved me from death by dry chicken sandwich. Really."

And a second tweet said, "Not bad to have quick thinking, ex-NFL player around when Heimlich needed. I'll take bruised ribs to avoid choking!"

ESPN.com's Front Row reported how the incident unfolded.

"It happened in the green room/viewing room behind ESPN's outdoor set during halftime," Palmer told Front Row. "Ed Placey (senior coordinating producer of ESPN's college football coverage) was standing with us at a high table while we were eating. The rest of the stage crew was in the room as well.

"I was watching Chris chew his food, and his eyes began to get big," said Palmer, the 2004 'Bachelor' on the ABC reality show who told Front Row that he never had performed the Heimlich before. "He tried to swallow some water to clear his throat, then he had a look of panic on his face."

Placey told Front Row: "I was standing right there. Jesse, with cat-quick reflexes, reacted immediately."

With the incident behind him, Fowler was able to talk about it with a bit of self-deprecating humor.

"To all concerned well-wishers: I'm fine. My call was better today post-Heimlich! Surprised by the fuss, but appreciate nice comments," he tweeted.

Other jokes ensued.

CollegeFootballNews.com, responding to Fowler's tweet about the efforts of Palmer, the "quick-thinking, ex-NFL player," tweeted, "@cbfowler Too bad he wasn't there to provide the same help to Washington State in the New Mexico Bowl (rim shot.)"
