Andrew Bynum to Miami Heat? What's the Next Step After His Suspension [VIDEO]

The Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Clippers and defending champion Miami Heat are all rumored to be interested in troubled center Andrew Bynum if he is released by the Cleveland Cavaliers, according to ESPN NBA writer Brian Windhorst.

On Saturday, the team announced it had suspended the oft-injured center for conduct deemed detrimental to the team and ESPN has since reported the next step could end in the team moving to release him.

The Cavaliers signed Bynum to a two-year, $24-million deal over the summer but the relationship has been a rocky one. The former All-Star center has averaged just 8.4 points and 5.3 rebounds in 20.0 minutes in the 24 games he has played with the Cavaliers.

In moving to suspend the veteran center, team sources noted several of Bynum's past teammates have previously questioned his love of and commitment to the game and that the serious knee injuries he's now still seeking to overcome vastly require both of those dimensions.

ESPN adds the Cavs will first attempt to deal Bynum, before officially releasing him in January if the team can not find a deal. That's where the Celtics, Clippers and Heat come in.

The Clippers, who would have to waive a player to be able to sign Bynum, have indicated they consider him a capable backup to Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan. Still just 26, Bynum previously won back-to-back titles with Kobe Bryant and the L.A. Lakers before being dealt for Dwight Howard two seasons ago.
