DeSean Jackson Contract Raise? [VIDEO] Eagles WR: 'I Feel It's Something Deserving'

Despite the fact that he has three years remaining on the five-year contract he signed in 2012, Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson believes he is entitled to a raise.

The receiver said on Monday, just two days removed from his team's 26-24 wild-card playoff loss to the New Orleans Saints, that he felt he was entitled to some more money.

"I definitely feel it's something deserving," Jackson said via ESPN. "We'll see how that plays out. Hopefully, we can work things out smoothly and not have to worry about anything out of the ordinary."

Jackson, who made $7 million this season, is due to make $10.5 million including a workout bonus in 2014. Jackson and the Eagles are no strangers to contract issues as the wideout admitted that in 2011 his play was hampered due to his contract status, leading to a five-year deal worth nearly $50 million with a signing bonus of $10 million in 2012.

Now--just two years later--Jackson wants the Eagles to empty out their pockets once again.

"I'm proven in this league," Jackson said per ESPN. "After this past year, [I] went out there, no distractions, and just really put it all in for my team and went out there and had a lot of success, so we'll see how it goes."

Jackson, 27, caught 82 passes for 1,332 yards with nine touchdowns in 2013 en route to helping the Eagles capture the NFC East Division title for the first time since 2010.

Jackson believes that the Eagles will oblige him.

"Honestly, I feel very confident that my agent will work something out," Jackson told ESPN. "I feel like I have a great agent -- that's what he's for, that's what his job is. All I have to really worry about is staying out of trouble and keeping my nose clean and doing the things I need to do, working on my craft and playing football."

Jackson has played all six of his NFL seasons with Philadelphia, and has 356 receptions for 6,117 yards with 32 scores.
