Chris Kluwe, Tim Tebow Blackballed For Speaking Out? Former Vikings Punter, Gay Rights Activist, Calls Out NFL [VIDEO]

Chris Kluwe insists he and Tim Tebow are both being kept out of the NFL because of their beliefs on social issues.

The former Minnesota Vikings punter, who has spoken out in support of gay rights recently added an episode of Olbermann that he believes coaches and general managers don't want to deal with players who care about the world around them and not just football.

"As much as we are polar opposites on the things we stand for, Tebow is the exact same way," said Kluwe. "There are backup quarterbacks in the NFL right now that Tebow is certainly better than - he could fill a role with a team. But because he brings this other stuff with him, just like I bring my other stuff with me, teams look at it like, 'We don't want it. We don't want players speaking out. We don't want players doing anything other than football.'"

Kluwe later told host Keith Olbermann that he thinks he was cut because he spoke out on civil rights in general, but he also believes NFL coaches and GMs are generally uncomfortable with players expressing opinions on any issues.

"I think anyone speaking up about anything, the NFL is kind of like, 'You might alienate a portion of our market, so don't do that. Just be football,'" he said.

Widely known for his Christian faith, Tebow last played in an NFL game with the Jets in 2012 and was cut in training camp by the Patriots before the start of this season. He recently signed on with ESPN as a college football analyst.
