Lolo Jones Olympic Bobsled Hopes: Hurdler Not Competing in Second To Last World Cup Race in St. Moritz [VIDEO]

All Lolo Jones can do this weekend is sit and watch.

OlympicTalk.NBCSports.com reported this week that Jones is not taking place in today's World Cup women's bobsled race in St. Moritz, Switzerland.

Jones is one of five push athletes vying for three spots. She and Lauren Williams are on the sidelines in the next to last World Cup race before the U.S. Bobsled and Skeleton Federation selects the three two-woman teams that will compete in the 2014 Winter Olympics next month in Sochi, Russia.

The teams competing in St. Moritz include driver Elana Meyers with push athlete Aja Evans, rider Jamie Greubel with push athlete Emily Azevedo and driver Jazmine Fenlator and push athlete Katie Eberling.

U.S. bobsled officials have been experimenting with different combinations of drivers and push athletes all through the World Cup season to find the pairs the compete the best.

According to OlympicTalk.NBCSports.com, Meyers and Evans are expected to compete together in Sochi and could be the favorites to win a gold medal. Greubel has been paired with Eberling more often than any other push athlete in the last two seasons.

Fenlator has been paired with Jones often, and previous reports have indicated that Jones could be competing with Williams and Azevedo - the only one of the three with previous Olympic bobsled experience - for the final push athlete spot

.

Jones has conducted a select amount of interviews leading up to the Games, but she did talk recently to The Associated Press about her quest for a medal.

"I'm so tired of hearing people say this is about the limelight," Jones told the AP, as reported by OlympicTalk.NBCSports.com. "It's not a gimmick. It's not for publicity. It never was. It's always been about me achieving a dream and being able to tell that story down the road, that I never gave up and I fought hard."

In fact, Jones paired with Meyers last week in Winterberg, Germany, and the pair finished second, just one-hundreth of a second off the winning time.

The U.S. will announce its team of drivers and push athletes after the final World Cup race a week from today.
